Meet Sam…
I am a dedicated sports enthusiast who has competed internationally in the sport of sailing as well as performing at a competitive level in cycling and running.

On the 18th July 2024 I graduated from the University of Surrey with a degree of Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours having studied Sports and Exercise Science for three years.
During my three years at University I studied several modules associated with the sports science industry such as exercise physiology, principles of exercise fitness and health, sports nutrition, biomechanics, sports psychology and injury rehabilitation.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about any of these fields and I will do my best to to support your query.

During the injury and rehabilitation module of my sports and exercise science degree, I was exposed to sports massage through lectures and practicals where I learnt about its benefits to sporting performance and as a treatment technique to treat injuries.
I thoroughly enjoyed these practicals and as a result, I undertook a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Massage to kickstart my career in the field.
Here at Sport Body Therapy, I offer two massage services, a relaxing therapeutic massage which uses gentle techniques and a sports-specific massage that focuses on the muscles used in your sport to aid recovery to help improve performance and/or treat any muscle injuries.

During my time at the University of Surrey, I qualified as a Level 2 Gym Instructor as part of my exercise fitness and health module. This qualification has taught me key skills on how to effectively coach someone in the gym setting, what exercises are best for training specific muscle groups and which exercises are best for individual performance history.
I have a vast range of experiences in and around the gym setting by working in the busy Surrey Sports Park gym as well as making training plans for my fellow students and staff as part of my degree and through several volunteering schemes.
I offer an online strength-based training plan which is tailored to your specific training needs. We start with a free consultation where we discuss your goals, so that I can prescribe the best training plan possible. Thereafter we will have weekly catch-ups to discuss the next weeks training and if you have any questions.

During my time at University, I undertook several modules relating to personal training which ranged from personal training in a gym setting to triathlon training etc. As a keen sportsman myself this is an area I am deeply passionate about and will do my utmost best to prescribe the best-tailored training sessions to meet your training goals.
